Can large DINO-CARS be retrofitted with a 3-speed gearbox?
Many DINO-CARS go-karts can theoretically be retrofitted with a 3-speed gearbox. This retrofit can only be done at the factory. The cost is approximately €470 (as of January 2021), including materials, transport, and installation. It is often more worthwhile to sell your old go-kart for a good price and buy a new one.
-
What is the maximum permissible load for the go-kart?
The Speedy/Junior models have a maximum weight capacity of 80 kg. All larger go-karts, from the Classic line upwards, have a maximum weight capacity of 100 kg. For each DINO-CARS go-kart or trampoline, we have included the maximum weight limits, age recommendations, and recommended heights in the product description.
-
Should the trampoline be taken down in winter?
DINO-CARS recommends completely disassembling the trampoline during the winter. This provides optimal protection for all components against the elements. To minimize the effort required for disassembly, at least the safety net and the protective padding should be removed. The jumping mat must be covered with a suitable cover (available in the DINO-CARS shop).

What should the tire pressure be?
- Tire Pressure – How to Inflate Your DINO CARS Tires Correctly For your DINO CARS go-kart to run safely, smoothly, and for a long time, the correct tire pressure is crucial. Please note the following guidelines: Recommended Tire Pressure
- 1.8 to 2.0 bar (equivalent to 26–29 PSI) This range is ideal for most DINO CARS models. This ensures smooth rolling, even tire wear, and optimal driving comfort. Special Notes Regarding Ambient Temperature
- Sunlight & Heat In strong sunlight or high ambient temperatures, the tires heat up and expand. The tire pressure can rise noticeably. Recommendation: Reduce the tire pressure by approximately 0.2 bar (about 3 PSI) during prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent over-expansion and potential pressure loss.
- Cold & Winter Storage In low temperatures, tire pressure decreases. Check the pressure regularly – especially if the vehicle has not been used for an extended period. How to check tire pressure correctly: 1. Use a suitable air pump with a pressure gauge. 2. Check the pressure at least once a month or before every long ride. 3. Make sure all four tires are inflated evenly. Maintenance note: Too low tire pressure can:
- make pedaling more difficult,
- lead to increased tire wear,
- impair riding safety. Too high tire pressure can:
- reduce riding comfort,
- increase the risk of a tire blowout when heated.

What freewheel options does DINO-CARS offer?
DINO-CARS offers four freewheel options: F: Freewheel for forward travel only. Reverse travel is not possible. This freewheel option is particularly suitable for professional use. The freewheel is resistant to damage of any kind. ZF: The optimized, switchable reverse gear (ZF) allows forward or reverse travel by switching the gear lever. BF1: With the brake freewheel, you can travel forward and backward without shifting gears. The integrated coaster brake allows you to stop particularly safely, comfortably, and very smoothly. BF3: The brake freewheel with 3-speed shifting allows forward and reverse travel without any further shifting. Here, the integrated coaster brake ensures particularly safe and comfortable stopping. The three gears provide the right gear ratio – even off-road.
